Thanks for coming and sharing our special morning with us.

Santa Visit:

We are looking forward to Santa's arrival to Tecumseh Vista to visit our class at 9:30. Please arrive by this time. Your child is invited to wear red and/or green. We are looking forward to a fun and memorable morning to share with you. See you then!

 

Since we didn't have any snow to play with outdoors...

Miss Allie brought in a special activity so we could

play with the snow indoors.

Cookie Dough Reminder
Cookie dough pickup is Wednesday, Nov. 19th from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

Book Fair News
If you would like your child to buy a book from the book fair, please send money in your child's mailbag on Tues., Nov. 25th as we will be visiting the book fair on this day.

Winter clothing
Please make sure all outer wear including boots have a label with your child's name. Many students have similar items and labels will ensure that your child's clothing/boots are not lost or misplaced. We are outside 2-3 times per day so please dress your child warm. Also, please encourage your child to become independent when putting on and taking off their winter clothing so that they can be independent at school.
*With the wet/snowy weather now here, please send in extra socks that can be kept in your child's backpack.

Become a Hunger Hero

During the month of November, TVA will be participating

in a food drive to help the people of Essex County obtain the food they need through the holidays and into the year to come.

A portion of your donations will be given to our own TVA

families in need.

Please support TVA's fight against hunger.

Bring in any non-perishable food items between

November 17 and November 28

The class that brings in the most items per students

will win cookies and hot cocoa.

Special thanks to 'Farmer Chauvin'

for teaching us about farming and

bringing in his big green tractor.

 

We celebrated RAK day on Friday!

What is RAK day? Its 'Random Acts of Kindness'.

We read the book, 'One Smile'...

we learned that doing kind deeds helps people in many ways...

and it can start with just 'one smile'.

We finished our day by sharing our 'big hearts'...

we did kind deeds for each other and made hearts for

our friends at school. It was awesome to see

the kindness shared by all!

 

 

 Halloween was great fun! We started our day with

a costume parade.

 

We followed directions and used our creative touch

to make tasty monster cookies.

 

 

 We made pumpkin necklaces and chose many fun centres.

We played lots of fun games including Pass the Pumpkin, we danced, we read stories and we even made our own spider webs with our whole class and by ourselves.

 

We had an amazing day filled with lots of

Tecumseh Vista spirit and cool activities.

Our Trip to Colasanti's

Special thanks to all of the moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, aunts and special friends who helped chaperone students for our field trip. Wow! We have a fantastic community of families and friends. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Because of the great support, we had an amazing day and field trip. Please check out the pictures below to see the great fun we experienced.

 

 

 

 



Look who came to visit today! We saw the fire trucks and we sat inside the trucks. The fire fighter taught us about the truck and we learned about fire safety.

 

Because of the rainy weather, we weren't able to watch the football game for the Vista for a Cure Event. However, we were lucky to meet all of the Vista football team in their pink jerseys.

Tecumseh Vista for a cure event has been rescheduled for tomorrow due to bus cancellation because of the fog. There will be the walk around the track and football game on Friday. Don't forget to wear pink!

A Glimpse at Our Second Week in Kindergarten

We have been exploring and learning about the life of a butterfly. Check out the pictures below to see our amazing caterpillars that are going to become beautiful butterflies.

 

 

Our caterpillars have arrived. They are just like the caterpillar we have been

reading about in 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' story by Eric Carle...

they are very hungry and eat a lot of food.

We are making and naming the caterpillars.

 

 

 

The caterpillars are now in the pupa stage.

Each caterpillar is now a chrysalis.

We need to put them in their new home...

the butterfly net garden.

 

We need to wait 7 - 10 days for the chrysalis to change to a butterfly.

We read books and learn about all kinds of butterflies,

 including the Painted Lady Butterfly (the species we are raising).

 

 

 

Our butterflies have arrived in their new home.

We are feeding them a special nectar drink.

 

Our butterflies need to go home to nature and drink

real nectar from flowers.

With a 1...2...3... and a special wish...

we say goodbye to our butterflies so they can begin a new adventure!
