Look at What's Been Happening in JK/SK:

We love learning about Penguins. One of our
friends read us his penguin book. We learned very quickly that the daddy Emperor penguin is very careful when he takes care of the baby egg... if not, it cracks and makes a big mess! We've also been reading other books about penguins and putting on puppet shows, dressing up and acting like penguins, making penguin hats and we celebrated Penguin Day by playing Penguin Musical Chairs and making slushies... Mmm! Mmm!

We had our own Penguin Rescue at Tecumseh Vista. After reading a story about penguins that were rescued by people after an oil spill, we created our own Feather Penguin Rescue at school.
We are happy to say that our penguins are cleaned and ready to go swimming again!

We have been learning about shapes, reading, letters, sounds and magnets. We are building and creating awesome inventions. There's always so much to see and do. Did you know that we can even practise making letters with our bodies?! (look above to check out the bottom picture on the left)

We had lots of fun making dough, turning dough into alphabet letters and painting them with Miss Allie.

Miss Allie is our awesome co-op student who comes to help us every morning at school. She loves our class so much that she's going to do another co-op placement with us next semester. She's going to be in our class for the whole year. We are so lucky to have her help us in our class and we love having her come visit us everyday!

After reading several Barbara Reid stories
and learning about the pictures she creates using plasticine, we created our own beautiful pictures/scenes. We hope you can stop by our classroom to see our display of our amazing plasticine creations.
